Please send us organic household waste. This includes food waste like coffee grounds, meat scraps, egg shells, vegetables, fruit, and nuts.
HOW IT WORKS
- SELECT | Please choose the size of Zero Waste Pail you'd like to purchase.
- COLLECT | When you receive your Pail, set aside the shipping box it came in. You will use this to ship the filled Pail back for recycling. Fill the Pail with the appropriate waste streams (listed above). Once full, ship your Pail back to TerraCycle using the same shipping box it arrived in, using pre-paid shipping label that came with your order.
- RECYCLE | When we receive your waste, we'll safely recycle all of the collected materials. Please click here to see how your waste is recycled.

IMPORTANT RESTRICTIONS
Do not send in household hazardous waste such as lithium ion batteries, pressurized canisters, pesticides, oil-based paint or medical sharps, organics, broken glass, bio-medical waste, soiled diapers, or expired medication.
Do not accept any item that is classified as sharp, flammable, reactive, corrosive, ignitable, radioactive, toxic, infectious, or pathogenic.
WHY? Each Zero Waste solution is custom-built for specific waste streams. Additionally, our Zero Waste System must adhere to standard shipping regulations.
How It Works
- Order: Browse our selection of Zero Waste Boxes and select one that fits your needs.
- Collect: Fill your Zero Waste Box with the trash you'd like to recycle.
- Ship & Recycle: When filled, send your Zero Waste solution back to us using the prepaid shipping label and we'll #RecycleEverything - Yup, even the solution & liner! *
- Reorder: Continue to recycle everything and reorder a new Zero Waste Box.

*Please note: For Zero Waste Pallet orders, shipping is not included. The cost and scheduling of return shipping for pallets is the responsibility of the customer. Email customersupport@terracycle.com to request a Ready to Ship Form when your pallet is full.
Important Shipping Restrictions
For the Zero Waste Box system to work effectively and safely, please follow these simple shipping guidelines on how and what you can ship back to TerraCycle:
- When will my order arrive? Orders are typically shipped out 2-3 business days after the order is placed. All orders ship via UPS and can take 1-6 business days to arrive. Please note: during a sale period, these times may vary; expect possible delays with your order being fulfilled.
- Only send in items this system accepts. Sending in items that fall outside the selected category causes contamination and the need for added separation, which increases costs. For a more technical description of what is accepted, please click here.
- Do not send in household items that may be considered hazardous waste. These include items such as lithium-ion batteries, pressurized canisters, pesticides, oil-based paint or medical sharps, organics, broken glass, biomedical waste, soiled diapers, or expired medication. Do not send in anything sharp, flammable, reactive, corrosive, ignitable, radioactive, toxic, infectious, or pathogenic. - Do not ship dripping packages. Please make sure all excess product has been removed before putting it in your Zero Waste Box, Pouch, or Pallet. If you choose to rinse your items, please note that the system must be completely dry prior to shipping.
